Preparing Your Animals For Emergencies
...Dr. Heather Case..........................Michael Cathey
It seems that everyday in the news some disaster or emergency situation has arisen in the U.S. that impacts people and the animals they care for. The emergency may affect a single family or cities and counties. Disasters know no season, snowstorms, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, and floods. We expect the local, state or national authorities to take care of us but who takes care of the animals? What can you do to prepare your entire family for potentially life threatening situations?Today I will speak with Dr. Heather Case. She is the AVMA coordinator for emergency preparedness and response and Michael Cathey, the Director of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.
