Richard Massa

Richard Massa is a retired educator. After retiring from his position as Executive Dean and Vice President of Instruction at San Diego City College he eventually settled in the Playas de Tijuana area as a result of his involvement with animal welfare work in Mexico. Being a long time resident of the San Diego-Tijuana area he is acutely aware of the distressing plight of the thousands of street animals in Tijuana and devotes much of his retirement to improving their situation. In 2006, he, along with two Mexican friends, founded the Humane Society de Tijuana, a Mexican not-for-profit civic association which offers free spay and neuter clinics and free veterinary street clinics in the poorest Tijuana neighborhoods. In addition to his volunteer work in the animal clinics, he serves as a non paid volunteer on the board of directors of the Humane Society de Tijuana and the board of directors of the Friends of Humane Society de Tijuana, an American not-for-profit [501 c 3] support organization.
Richard can be reached by email: hstjmexico@aol.com  or by calling 619-922-3394.
