Welcome to A Super Smiley Adventure!
In living with dogs, cats and horses, one thing I’ve learned is that if we are open to it, animals will lead us on amazing adventures.
Whether it’s Super Smiley, my giant mutt, hiking and camping across New England and inspiring an entire Flash Mob Dance Campaign; Tout Suite The Travel Kitty traveling with me to Pet Friendly Resorts; or Starfire, our beautiful Arabian, leading me on inner journeys of self-discovery; my life with animals is always an adventure. Add the “happy chemicals” pets bring and a smiling dog, and voila, our show appeared.
On our podcast, we explore travel destinations, inner journeys and any path of pet adventure we can find.
Pets lower our blood pressure, lower our heart rates and increase our happy chemicals. We are their leaders, but if we can open to see where they lead us, we will begin our own Super Smiley Adventures. :)

We were at the pre-Grammy party talking to all of them: new artists, established producers, rock stars, movie stars, animal activists and a Super Smiley Flash Mobber or two. Now this is a Super Smiley Adventure!
Lights, Camera, Puppies! Disney's Treasure Buddies' Pups and Stars are in Hollywood at the world famous Egyptian Theater for the Film Premiere! On location at the premiere, we talk with Butterball's voice actor, Tucker Albrizzi, with the film's star, Richard Reihle, the movie director, Robert Vince and with real life working dogs for the Los Angeles Police K-9 units and Guide Dogs of America.... And we meet the puppies! WOW! What a show! Lights, Camera, Super Smiles!
The Little Labs from Disney’s “Buddies” series are back! This time in Treasure Buddies with their human star, Edward Herrmann. Edward joins us to share their film adventure where the puppies ‘save the world!’ and to talk about his real life pet loves: dogs, horses and a turtle!

Dr. Frank McMillan, the Director of Well Being Studies at Best Friends, is the author, and he’s here to share the inner workings of our pets' feelings. By helping open the frontier of animal feelings into a science, Dr. Frank has documented and helped many animals like those from Hurricane Katrina, Michael Vick and puppy mills. And, he has lots of great information that we can use in relating to our personal dogs as well. Well Done Dr. Frank!

Top Cat Robin Jackson joins Tout Suite The Travel Kitty, Smiley and me to share her adventures from Cat World as our Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Tour continues. We visit with the lucky cats Robin care-takes as she shares great info about behavioral issues and socialization and expels some myths about important things like Feline leukemia. Tout says “Tout Suite!” (That’s hurry up in French ;)) Smiley says “I have a cat, this stuff is good to know,” and I say, “Click Listen, and join the Adventure!”
Ryan O’Neal, iconic actor and Academy Award Nominee, embodies the classic essence of a true movie star, and his new rescue, Mozart, is turning heads on TV. Ryan met his new love on his Oprah Winfrey Network reality series, The O’Neals. I had the Super Pawsome pleasure of joining him on the OWN show with Best Friends’ dogs. Love at first sight! Ryan could have any type dog from any place in the world, and he chose to adopt a cute mix! Thank you Ryan!
A Super Smiley Adventure takes us on both travels and inner journeys where animals lead, and this show continues our radio tour of Best Friends Horse Haven, an almost “horse Heaven” located in breathtakingly beautiful Angel Canyon, Utah. Jen Reid, their head horse whisperer shares how we can volunteer with these lucky fellows, what it takes to have one of these grand creatures and what they have been teaching everyone lately. Starfire and Mini HaHa especially like this one.
Sounds like a homeless dog’s dream, but its true! Jan Folk has created a working operation and is living her mission to airlift dogs from high-risk LA shelters to forever homes in Canada. And, she does this throughout the year in conjunction with freedom flight celebrations and send-offs at her Orange Dog Bar and Grill. 100% of the proceeds go to help homeless animals. Of course! Jan shares her amazing vision and invites us all to come celebrate a 50 dog send-off this month. This deserves a giant Woof and gives us all mega Super Smiles!
Actress Kristen Renton from The OC, CSI, Days of Our Lives and the critically acclaimed FX series Sons of Anarchy lives her life in the fast lane – for animals. When not on the set, she fosters, volunteers, transports and advocates for dogs in need as well as caretaking her own beloved boxers. Wow! We need to step it up to keep up with Kristen! Rachelle Lefevre, star of CBS's new TV series, A Gifted Man, joins us and talks about Strutting Your Mutt! Best Friends Animal Society presents their nationwide Strut Your Mutt involving 134 rescue organizations and almost 5,000 participants across the country with the goal of raising awareness and $500,000 for pet adoption. Rachelle will be strutting in NYC. Smiley and Megan will be in Jacksonville, FL. Find out what’s up with The Strut and how you can Strut for Mutts. Pawsome! Platinum recording artists, acclaimed actresses and a power sister team rock it on A Super Smiley Adventure. They just starred as sisters on Hellcats, and have collectively starred in pawsome projects like The Lovely Bones, The Guardian, Easy A, Phil of the Future and, Starfire’s favorite, Secretariat. They tour with their dog, bring him to set, rescue squirrels, and AJ is a spokesperson for a wild horse rescue. A must-listen just to hear about our “squirrel day with Super Smiley!” A power duo on stage, screen and for the animals! Aly and AJ, you go girls!

Her entire life from being a guest on Oprah to starring in iconic films like American Graffiti and TV series like One Day at a Time has been an adventure. She has 6 pets, 5 of which have dramatic rescue stories. Mackenzie is the Official Celebrity Host of the Pet Expo USA, which works to uplift pets and spread the word about adoption. She's even danced in a Super Smiley Flash Mob! Smiley knows "Mack," has given her lots of kisses, and says You Can't Miss This One! Woof! :)

Wayne Pacelle, President of the Humane Society of the United States, has made his entire life a journey for the benefit of animals. His adventure has led him from the ice flows of Canada to state legislatures and Congress where he has spearheaded dozens of propositions and laws for the protection of animals. He now joins us to talk about his new book, The Bond where he explores the human/animal relationship on an emotional level and addresses what he believes is a true physiological connection. I believe it too! This is an amazing discussion with one of the most sought after animal advocates. The interview itself was an adventure. :)
Woof and Super Smiles on our very first Pet Life Radio show! We welcome Ginny Wiltsey on to introduce our new adventure. Ginny is a true Angel for Animals. This former director of North Carolina’s Guilford County Humane Society works 24/7 rescuing and finding homes for pets. Last weekend, Smiley and I flew from Malibu to NC to do our Super Smiley Flash Mob dance for Pet Adoption at one of Ginny’s Pawsome adoption events. Yes, Ginny danced with us! She’ll tell us all about it and about how animals can take us to amazing places.
