Terri Crisp

Terri Crisp

Terri Crisp has been devoted to the cause of helping animals during disasters since 1983. She has responded to 48 major disasters: 2 earthquakes, 15 fires, 14 floods, 7 hurricanes, 3 oil spills, 3 tornadoes, 3 tropical storms, and one terrorist attack. Having responded to these major disasters, she has shown consistent strength, integrity, and courage. Through her commitment to animal disaster preparedness, education, and response, she has motivated a large support network. The partnerships with volunteers she has trained, animal welfare organizations, and emergency management agencies reaches every state and spans several countries. These relationships enable her to work with a growing number of individuals and organizations during times of crisis.

It's Terri's vast knowledge of how animals are impacted by disasters that has led to her appearances on 20/20, Oprah, The Today Show, Animal Planet, The Weather Channel, and countless other television news programs. During the 1993 floods in the Midwest, ABC News with Peter Jennings picked Terri as their Person of the Week. Stories have been written about her in major magazines and newspapers across the country such as Biography, Reader's Digest, Good Housekeeping, Lifestyles, USA Today, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.

Terri is the author of two books, Out of Harm's Way and Emergency Animal Rescue Stories, which provide stories from some of the disasters she has responded to. As Founder and Director of Noah's Wish, Terri is building the foundation to spread a consistent message across the world and develop a universal standard for helping animals during disasters.
