5LB Toy Poodle/Chihuahua, Scrappy, Becomes Beacon Of Hope for Sick Children & Teaches Us Life Lessons In The Process

Jody Miller-Young on Pet Life Radio

We know how we feel about our pets, and Larry Grogan’s love for Scrappy, a scruffy adorable therapy dog is as deep as it goes. But, it’s also the stories of how Scrappy intuitive nature powerfully touched the lives of very sick children and the life lessons she taught him through how she lived, that will cause you to pull out the Kleenex. Larry shares those stories here, from his debut book, A Tail of Love: Life Lessons from Scrappy, a Pet Therapy Dog

BIO:

Larry Grogan is an investment advisor by trade but an animal lover at heart. At an early age, Larry and his father would go fishing together in the mountains of North Carolina where part of the daily routine was to watch deer grazing in the meadows next to the trout stream. From that point on, the beauty of nature and its contents significantly impacted Larry’s approach to life. Much later in life, came Scrappy, a five pound mixture of toy poodle and chihuahua. A better soul could not have been created. When Scrappy passed away in 2019, writing became a method of therapy for Larry. Her absence in his life was immense and it took over two years for Larry to complete his memoir of Scrappy. Larry’s first book, “A Tail of Love, Life Lessons from Scrappy a Pet Therapy Dog” chronicles many of Scrappy and Larry’s experiences together visiting children’s hospitals and other health care facilities. In Scrappy, Larry was able to illustrate the significant impact pet therapy dogs have on patients. These experiences and observations changed his life and hope that it may have a similar impact on yours.
