A Retirement Home for Senior Pups: Vintage Dogs Meet Vintage Furniture. What, You Say?
When Kristen and Marc Peralta rescued their senior dog, Rue McClanahan, they had no idea their home would become a haven for other seniors, too. A passion for senior dogs and vintage furniture came together in Vintage Pet Rescue and the combination couldn’t be more apropos. I learned about this wonderful rescue from a profile done in People magazine, but here, Kristen shares with us the stories of these dogs she and Marc have given a new lease on life and a safe final place to call home.
BIO:
Founder of Vintage Pet Rescue in Rhode Island. 38 years old. My husband, Marc, and I founded Vintage Pet Rescue in September 2017. We are a retirement home/hospice home for senior dogs. We take in senior dogs from local shelters and also from people who can no longer care for their senior dogs. We are currently home to 30 senior pups and we get 4 - 5 requests a week to take new dogs. We've built some great relationships with local rescues and other senior dog lovers to help re-home seniors dogs in need.
