Dr. Abell grew up in Maine and after graduating, pursued a one-year rotating internship, which cemented her love of emergency medicine and surgery. Dr. Abell started out as an emergency veterinarian at an emergency and specialty practice north of Boston, working exclusively in the ER and ICU, while exploring leadership opportunities. She joined VEG in 2021 as the Medical Director of VEG Cambridge, and assisted with the opening of VEG Boston. Dr. Abell aims to create an environment where pets and people are comfortable and where the team loves to work. When not focusing on her patients, she enjoys traveling, adventure, running, hiking, skiing, photography, and spending time with her family, including her rambunctious Chocolate Lab, Ruby.
