BIO:
Hi! I’m Karen Hoglund. I have a squeaky toy in one hand, a camera in the other, and fur all over my clothes.
My Background
Early in my career, I art-directed photo shoots for ad agencies, even hiring a golden retriever model for a national campaign. Talk about foreshadowing! Later, as a graphic designer, I honed my camera skills photographing children. In 2012, I launched my pet photography business!
Why Pet Photography?
I’ve always loved animals and had endless patience for them. Photographing my own dogs over the years helped me see how much a portrait can capture: their personalities, quirks, and how they made our house feel like a home.
I Create Works of Art
When I photograph your cat or dog, I promise it will be an enjoyable, laid-back experience. I studied photography as part of my Fine Art degree, so I know how to create beautiful works of art. I will carefully edit and retouch your final images to complement your home and serve as memories for years to come.
My Hobbies
Hiking – Ever since childhood trips to Buena Vista and Rocky Mountain National Park, I knew I’d move to Colorado. I’ve lived in Denver for over 28 years and still find new trails to explore.
Gardening – I love plants almost as much as animals… if that’s even possible.
