Charlotte Reed

    From Bulls & Bears…To Cats & Dogs
Charlotte Reed abandoned her career as a Wall Street lawyer to open Two Dogs & A Goat, Inc.— Manhattan’s premiere pet care service.

    Inspiration
This seemingly extreme transition was prompted by her two exceptionally-intuitive American cocker spaniels, Katie and Kidder. They inspired Reed to forget her Fordham Law degree and securities compliance job and totally dedicate her life to her true love — them. The final seed was sown one day in 1996, when Reed went home sick and found her male dog walker in one of her dresses.

That year, Reed opened Two Dogs & A Goat, determined to make it Manhattan’s only full-service pet care provider (and making Katie and Kidder proud).

    Experience
When she started, Reed was a young, aspiring entrepreneur in a burgeoning pet service industry. She quickly established her reputation as a leading pet care professional, offering top-notch service and personal attention to detail, as well as an infectious passion for pets. Reed has grown her company from a one-person operation to one with 25 pet care providers, 250 loyal clients and countless referrals from New York City veterinarians.

Since the business opened, Reed has been unlocking the secrets of maintaining happy and health pets. She's returned runaway dogs home safely, found loving owners for abandoned cats, saved couches from the wrath of kitty claws and solved the mysteries of housebreaking puppies.

No wonder her expertise and practical, insightful tips are in demand by pet owners, professionals, and the media.

    Training
Reed is a graduate of Lafayette College and Fordham Law School. Even so, she knew that her natural love of animals was not enough. She has honed her skills attending the Veterinary Technology Associates Program at City University of New York (CUNY), the New York School of Dog Grooming and the University of South Hampton New College in Great Britain. In 1998, she was one of only six people accepted into the prestigious biannual Apprenticeship Dog Training Program of the ASPCA’s Companion Animal Service Department.

    Professional Affiliations
Reed is serving her second term as public member of the New York State Veterinary Board. She is also President-Elect of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). Other memberships include the Cat Writers Association, Dog Writers Association of American and New York City Junior League.
