Groovy Goldendoodles

Isabel Alvarez Arata on Pet Life Radio

Cathy Bennett is a delight! She is the creator behind the Groovy Goldendoodles blog, co-host of the Girls with Dogs podcast, and therapy dog coordinator for one of the largest hospitals in the Southeast, MUSC. Cathy wasn't always a dog lover but, as is common in the pet industry, a dog changed her life and turned it upside down in all the right ways. Now, Cathy uses her self-described obsession with the breed to educate and entertain Goldendoodle lovers around the world.

Did you know there are over 60 types of "doodle" dogs out there these days? Everyone is looking for the perfect dog but is breeding all breeds with the poodle the means to that end? Cathy is concerned that unethical breeding may lead to unhealthy dogs. She herself had a very sad experience with her first Goldendoodle, Harley. She now knows better and, in this episode, gives doodle people some advice as to how to go about finding a reputable breeder for their next doodle pup.

BIO:

Cathy Bennett is a wife, mother, and military spouse (retired) that waited almost all her life for a dog of her own. She tried to have them from time to time with young children but moving so often made dog ownership difficult. She waited patiently for the right time and the right dog... That time finally arrived and Cathy and her family are blessed with the grooviest Goldendoodles ever. She enjoys sharing their story and hers on her blog, Groovy Goldendoodles, which she founded in 2012. They are also on social media.
