Announcer: This is Pet Life Radio.

00:00:03.900 --> 00:00:05.040
Announcer: Let's talk pets.

00:00:11.153 --> 00:00:17.013
Announcer: Rappaport to the Rescue, with award-winning animal advocate, Jill Rappaport.

00:00:20.693 --> 00:00:23.433
Jill Rappaport: Welcome to Rappaport to the Rescue, I'm Jill Rappaport.

00:00:23.433 --> 00:00:29.293
Jill Rappaport: And my guest today, Bourke Floyd is truly a Renaissance man extraordinaire.

00:00:29.573 --> 00:00:32.053
Jill Rappaport: Wait till you hear his list of credits.

00:00:32.113 --> 00:00:34.533
Jill Rappaport: I am exhausted just reading them.

00:00:34.833 --> 00:00:43.433
Jill Rappaport: Okay, he's been in 33 films, 28 TV shows slash series, nine theater productions, eight national commercials.

00:00:43.673 --> 00:00:49.493
Jill Rappaport: He's an actor, director, producer, musician, stuntman, husband, father.

00:00:49.773 --> 00:00:54.813
Jill Rappaport: But the title that resonates with me the most is he is an animal lover extraordinaire.

00:00:54.833 --> 00:00:58.653
Jill Rappaport: He's devoted so much of his life to rescue and adoption.

00:00:58.673 --> 00:01:01.253
Jill Rappaport: His animals are also his children.

00:01:01.853 --> 00:01:10.253
Jill Rappaport: And did I also mention that Bourke just happens to have over 1 million Instagram followers, no shock with all these wonderful credits.

00:01:10.533 --> 00:01:12.553
Jill Rappaport: And I am so thrilled to have you here.

00:01:12.573 --> 00:01:15.373
Jill Rappaport: Did I get all the credits in or are there more?

00:01:15.513 --> 00:01:16.433
Bourke Floyd: I've never heard them.

00:01:16.453 --> 00:01:18.713
Bourke Floyd: That's I could dig a hole.

00:01:18.733 --> 00:01:19.973
Bourke Floyd: I'm so embarrassed.

00:01:20.253 --> 00:01:25.173
Bourke Floyd: It's humbling that anyone invites me to do anything, let alone act.

00:01:25.713 --> 00:01:27.973
Bourke Floyd: And so I'm very, very blessed, yes.

00:01:28.273 --> 00:01:37.813
Jill Rappaport: Well, in your young age and you are a young man, you have done an extraordinary amount of work in all facets of the entertainment industry.

00:01:38.193 --> 00:01:47.833
Jill Rappaport: And when I read the list and I recognize the movies and your co-stars and everything you've done, wow, what haven't you done and what's left to tackle?

00:01:47.993 --> 00:01:48.653
Bourke Floyd: You know what?

00:01:48.673 --> 00:01:51.533
Bourke Floyd: There's so much to do in the world, right?

00:01:51.573 --> 00:01:56.293
Bourke Floyd: And that is such a cool thing that we can always be better if we work on ourselves.

00:01:56.313 --> 00:01:59.753
Bourke Floyd: We can always try to be better tomorrow than we were yesterday.

00:02:00.373 --> 00:02:07.053
Bourke Floyd: And in doing that, we always discover if you're willing and open to find it, you can always discover opportunities to do incredible things.

00:02:07.053 --> 00:02:14.373
Bourke Floyd: And the power of being able to say yes to things is probably one of the greatest gifts I could ever have.

00:02:14.413 --> 00:02:21.233
Bourke Floyd: And so I have no idea what might be next, but I would love to play a father on a series.

00:02:21.513 --> 00:02:27.093
Bourke Floyd: I would love to be able to be Phil Dunphy on Modern Family or something like that.

00:02:27.253 --> 00:02:28.053
Bourke Floyd: I mean, who wouldn't?

00:02:28.053 --> 00:02:32.153
Bourke Floyd: But that kind of thing would be a great, professionally would be a great thing.

00:02:32.313 --> 00:02:35.813
Jill Rappaport: And I'm surprised with all your acting credits that you haven't done that yet.

00:02:36.193 --> 00:02:39.353
Bourke Floyd: Well, yeah, so I took a long break from acting.

00:02:39.373 --> 00:02:44.913
Bourke Floyd: I took over a decade off from acting after I had a loss in the family.

00:02:45.173 --> 00:03:06.213
Bourke Floyd: And so while it would be, and while it does cross my mind on occasion to think about the opportunities that I may have missed, I really, because of that, I really try to look at all the things that I was able to be a part of due to having taken that break and, you know, another thing, and this is, I live by this statement.

00:03:06.233 --> 00:03:07.313
Bourke Floyd: I truly, truly do.

00:03:07.333 --> 00:03:12.833
Bourke Floyd: There are two things where I am so grateful for animals in my life.

00:03:13.153 --> 00:03:18.713
Bourke Floyd: There are a million things where I am, but there are two pillars where I am grateful for animals in my life.

00:03:19.053 --> 00:03:28.193
Bourke Floyd: For my future self, I'm grateful for animals because it's really simple for me to think about trying to be a better person.

00:03:28.273 --> 00:03:32.953
Bourke Floyd: And that is that I try to be the person, my dog thinks I am.

00:03:33.533 --> 00:03:34.113
Bourke Floyd: Yes.

00:03:34.713 --> 00:03:37.373
Bourke Floyd: And so that's an easy way.

00:03:37.513 --> 00:03:38.233
Bourke Floyd: That's it, right?

00:03:38.253 --> 00:03:47.693
Bourke Floyd: That's an easy put it in your pocket, pull it out when you want to get angry at somebody, you know, or you want to do something where you want to be, ah, it's easy to be like, would your dog accept that?

00:03:47.713 --> 00:03:48.093
Bourke Floyd: No.

00:03:48.173 --> 00:03:49.493
Bourke Floyd: So let's not be that guy.

00:03:49.813 --> 00:03:56.153
Jill Rappaport: It's so funny that you mentioned that saying because I found a pillow with that exact saying, be the person your dog thinks you are.

00:03:56.173 --> 00:04:01.153
Jill Rappaport: And I actually sent it to Oprah after I was so fortunate enough to appear on her show.

00:04:01.373 --> 00:04:08.173
Jill Rappaport: And when you think about what that says, be the person your dog thinks you are, they look at us, we're perfection.

00:04:08.373 --> 00:04:09.633
Jill Rappaport: We can do no wrong.

00:04:09.633 --> 00:04:11.493
Jill Rappaport: So be that person, right?

00:04:11.513 --> 00:04:12.333
Bourke Floyd: Be that person.

00:04:12.353 --> 00:04:23.713
Bourke Floyd: And you know, it's unachievable, but try, try to be that person because you're right, we are perfection to them, which is a gift and a responsibility and all of that.

00:04:23.733 --> 00:04:28.173
Bourke Floyd: And so that's the pillar that I use for myself in the present and looking at the future.

00:04:28.733 --> 00:04:59.013
Bourke Floyd: And in the past, when I look back at how animals have impacted me, supported me, shown me that unconditional love when I was unaware that it existed, I think that none of the things that I have been able to be a part of or the successes I've had or any of that would have happened had I not been exposed and given the unconditional love that comes from having animals regularly in your life.

00:04:59.393 --> 00:05:00.773
Jill Rappaport: And you've rescued forever.

00:05:00.793 --> 00:05:03.713
Jill Rappaport: You've had so many rescue dogs, right?

00:05:04.253 --> 00:05:04.913
Bourke Floyd: I mean, yes.

00:05:05.153 --> 00:05:06.573
Bourke Floyd: I mean, I can't even tell you.

00:05:06.593 --> 00:05:17.433
Bourke Floyd: And I mean, the ones that you foster so many, I've been able to keep and have many, many, many over a dozen that I was able to keep throughout their entire course of their lifespan.

00:05:17.453 --> 00:05:23.693
Bourke Floyd: But as far as fostering, it's never to her chagrin, but my wife is often like, oh, yep.

00:05:24.173 --> 00:05:26.353
Bourke Floyd: I mean, you know, she's just like, oh, sure.

00:05:26.373 --> 00:05:27.793
Bourke Floyd: Yeah, you got a couple dogs that you found?

00:05:27.813 --> 00:05:28.093
Bourke Floyd: Great.

00:05:28.113 --> 00:05:28.553
Jill Rappaport: All right.

00:05:28.593 --> 00:05:29.333
Bourke Floyd: I will say this.

00:05:29.353 --> 00:05:32.473
Bourke Floyd: My son, our son, Luca Bear, who is now 11.

00:05:32.813 --> 00:05:34.053
Jill Rappaport: I love that name.

00:05:35.213 --> 00:05:37.713
Bourke Floyd: The bear is the dog whisperer.

00:05:38.633 --> 00:05:41.333
Bourke Floyd: We were in Missouri visiting my in-laws.

00:05:41.353 --> 00:05:42.553
Bourke Floyd: We're driving down.

00:05:42.653 --> 00:05:43.853
Bourke Floyd: It's just the three of us.

00:05:43.873 --> 00:05:50.013
Bourke Floyd: And we're driving in this very, very out of the way four lane back road kind of thing.

00:05:50.633 --> 00:05:55.653
Bourke Floyd: And there was this pickup truck in front, squeals its tires, smoke up and everywhere.

00:05:56.153 --> 00:05:56.993
Bourke Floyd: We all stop.

00:05:57.013 --> 00:05:58.633
Bourke Floyd: It's very few cars on the road.

00:05:58.653 --> 00:06:01.593
Bourke Floyd: And there is this beautiful Pyrenees in the road.

00:06:01.713 --> 00:06:02.913
Bourke Floyd: So I pull over.

00:06:03.093 --> 00:06:05.353
Bourke Floyd: It is a high speed trafficked road.

00:06:06.113 --> 00:06:07.693
Bourke Floyd: I'm trying to corral this dog.

00:06:07.713 --> 00:06:11.953
Bourke Floyd: I'm trying to herd this dog to make sure that it doesn't go back in off the highway.

00:06:12.653 --> 00:06:17.473
Bourke Floyd: My son opens the back door of this rental car and sticks his head out.

00:06:17.493 --> 00:06:20.513
Bourke Floyd: And he's, I think he was eight at the time and sticks his head out.

00:06:20.533 --> 00:06:24.413
Bourke Floyd: I was like, dad, dad, you know, he's a little panicked himself.

00:06:24.433 --> 00:06:31.133
Bourke Floyd: Dad, dog looks up, sees my son, runs down the shoulder of the road and hops into the back seat of the car.

00:06:31.393 --> 00:06:32.153
Jill Rappaport: Oh my goodness.

00:06:32.173 --> 00:06:34.753
Jill Rappaport: Is he part of your family now, this dog?

00:06:34.773 --> 00:06:39.713
Bourke Floyd: No, we were able to locate his owners who were frantically looking for him.

00:06:39.733 --> 00:06:44.253
Bourke Floyd: You know, granted, and I'm not going to lie to you, Jill, if he was, we would have loved it.

00:06:44.533 --> 00:06:46.193
Bourke Floyd: He was the sweetest thing.

00:06:46.513 --> 00:06:47.973
Bourke Floyd: But he looked well cared for.

00:06:47.993 --> 00:06:49.073
Bourke Floyd: He looked well fed.

00:06:49.513 --> 00:06:55.593
Bourke Floyd: And it was one of those where you do want to drive to find the owners to see, to make sure also, to make sure that they're okay, right?

00:06:56.593 --> 00:07:01.353
Bourke Floyd: And after about an hour, we did find the owners who were frantically searching for him.

00:07:01.733 --> 00:07:05.473
Bourke Floyd: And we were so happy to have him find his home.

00:07:05.913 --> 00:07:12.433
Bourke Floyd: We absolutely, as we were driving away, were like, man, that's a great dog.

00:07:12.453 --> 00:07:13.473
Jill Rappaport: You would have kept him too.

00:07:13.733 --> 00:07:16.773
Jill Rappaport: And what a wonderful life lesson for your children.

00:07:17.013 --> 00:07:20.113
Jill Rappaport: I mean, they've grown up with this, obviously, with you and your wife.

00:07:20.273 --> 00:07:26.253
Jill Rappaport: It's embedded in their souls and yours to help an animal and give it the best life possible.

00:07:26.333 --> 00:07:26.913
Bourke Floyd: That's right.

00:07:26.933 --> 00:07:35.253
Bourke Floyd: By the way, I think Dobie McGuire, my dog right now, who is at Rescue, I believe he hears that we are speaking of other dogs.

00:07:35.253 --> 00:07:42.293
Bourke Floyd: And he is circling me in his dogdom to make sure that I speak about how sweet Dobie McGuire is.

00:07:42.493 --> 00:07:43.653
Jill Rappaport: When did you rescue him?

00:07:43.893 --> 00:07:44.653
Bourke Floyd: Eight weeks.

00:07:44.793 --> 00:07:49.693
Bourke Floyd: He was relieved from his other domicile by the police.

00:07:50.233 --> 00:07:51.073
Jill Rappaport: Oh my goodness.

00:07:51.553 --> 00:07:52.373
Jill Rappaport: Unbelievable.

00:07:52.393 --> 00:07:55.293
Jill Rappaport: What a wonderful story of adoption and rescue.

00:07:55.513 --> 00:08:01.273
Jill Rappaport: Besides the dogs, from everything I've read about you, you literally grew up in a saddle before you could walk.

00:08:01.653 --> 00:08:02.753
Bourke Floyd: That is exactly right.

00:08:02.773 --> 00:08:08.313
Bourke Floyd: I grew up, I had my birth parents until I was eight and ten.

00:08:08.333 --> 00:08:11.333
Bourke Floyd: At ten, I was no longer with my birth parents.

00:08:11.413 --> 00:08:12.773
Bourke Floyd: I entered the foster care system.

00:08:13.073 --> 00:08:23.453
Bourke Floyd: But I do remember prior to them passing, when I was five, when I was very, very young, them regularly telling people, oh yeah, he sat a saddle before he learned to walk.

00:08:23.873 --> 00:08:30.173
Bourke Floyd: And I actually don't recall a time, I don't remember learning to ride.

00:08:30.293 --> 00:08:42.813
Bourke Floyd: I remember having some opportunities to receive some coaching and to develop my skill set as a rider, but I don't remember ever learning to ride or to mount a horse.

00:08:42.833 --> 00:08:43.413
Bourke Floyd: Do you know what I mean?

00:08:43.433 --> 00:08:49.993
Bourke Floyd: Those things, those were like, you don't, maybe you don't remember, I don't remember learning to walk either.

00:08:50.013 --> 00:08:50.773
Bourke Floyd: Do you know what I mean?

00:08:51.733 --> 00:08:54.593
Bourke Floyd: I truly don't remember the first time I sat a horse.

00:08:55.093 --> 00:09:06.573
Bourke Floyd: I don't remember any awe or shock upon meeting a horse because I was just around them wherever, and they are in the fabric of who I am, and I cannot tell you.

00:09:06.593 --> 00:09:16.833
Bourke Floyd: The Seen Through Horses campaign is probably one of the greatest gifts I've ever had, and our mutual friend Chantel is the reason why I'm a part of that, and I know you are as well.

00:09:17.113 --> 00:09:29.833
Bourke Floyd: I cannot speak highly enough for how impactful the love, empathy and compassion a horse can have on the human heart and the human spirit.

00:09:29.973 --> 00:09:30.573
Jill Rappaport: So true.

00:09:30.733 --> 00:09:38.453
Bourke Floyd: And how much encouragement you can get from these beautiful, incredible, brilliant animals.

00:09:38.953 --> 00:09:42.013
Bourke Floyd: There are people that will pay big money to swim with dolphins.

00:09:42.033 --> 00:09:43.333
Bourke Floyd: And I love dolphins.

00:09:43.353 --> 00:09:44.193
Bourke Floyd: Don't get me wrong.

00:09:44.213 --> 00:09:45.493
Bourke Floyd: I love marine life.

00:09:45.513 --> 00:09:46.413
Bourke Floyd: I love all animals.

00:09:46.593 --> 00:09:49.473
Bourke Floyd: I mean, I can't pretend that I love them all.

00:09:50.073 --> 00:09:57.793
Bourke Floyd: But you know, it's like when people in shock and awe talk about swimming with dolphins, I'm like, you know, there's a horse ranch around the corner.

00:09:58.033 --> 00:10:03.853
Bourke Floyd: And if you just went there, you would have that exact same experience with a much larger animal, in fact.

00:10:04.033 --> 00:10:07.413
Bourke Floyd: And you know, I mean, and I'm not knocking swimming with dolphins.

00:10:07.433 --> 00:10:07.733
Bourke Floyd: I'm not.

00:10:07.933 --> 00:10:09.533
Bourke Floyd: But I mean, it's like these things.

00:10:09.933 --> 00:10:13.113
Bourke Floyd: Horses are incredible, brilliant animals.

00:10:13.313 --> 00:10:14.613
Bourke Floyd: I wouldn't be here without them.

00:10:14.713 --> 00:10:18.053
Jill Rappaport: You and I have such an incredible bond to these majestic creatures.

00:10:18.073 --> 00:10:35.353
Jill Rappaport: And this campaign Seen Through Horses, which is coming up again in May, really delves into the sole purpose, how they connect with us emotionally, and the joy and the feeling to make us better human beings, happier human beings, because of horses in our lives.

00:10:35.533 --> 00:10:35.913
Bourke Floyd: Yes.

00:10:35.993 --> 00:10:47.653
Bourke Floyd: And you as the brilliant journalist probably did it on purpose, but me as the dad just heard it, soul purpose, the homonym of it, the soul purpose as well.

00:10:47.693 --> 00:10:48.733
Bourke Floyd: It's so true.

00:10:48.753 --> 00:10:50.553
Bourke Floyd: And Seen Through Horses, you're right.

00:10:50.573 --> 00:10:55.033
Bourke Floyd: That's part of my favorite part of the campaign is that, and it is coming back up again.

00:10:55.053 --> 00:11:11.833
Bourke Floyd: Probably my favorite part of the campaign is that it lets us, as human beings who have had that experience, share our personal experience, because that's what it is to have a horse in your life, even for a moment.

00:11:12.153 --> 00:11:19.833
Bourke Floyd: It can be such a personal experience for each individual, and can truly, and man, they know when you're struggling.

00:11:20.453 --> 00:11:22.073
Bourke Floyd: I will tell you, they do.

00:11:22.173 --> 00:11:25.253
Bourke Floyd: People don't realize it until they get around them.

00:11:25.273 --> 00:11:32.113
Bourke Floyd: I mean, they sense your vulnerability, and they will, even if you're faking it, you can't fake it around a horse, man.

00:11:32.193 --> 00:11:36.293
Bourke Floyd: They know when storms are coming, and they know when storms are brewing in you.

00:11:36.593 --> 00:11:43.493
Jill Rappaport: And they can feel everything from the top of your head to the bottom of your foot, the energy that you're putting out there.

00:11:43.673 --> 00:11:46.333
Jill Rappaport: They can feel it when you're on them, next to them.

00:11:47.013 --> 00:11:52.473
Jill Rappaport: They can look at you, they can sense the way you pet them, what you're feeling, at that moment, it's truly incredible.

00:11:52.813 --> 00:12:02.793
Jill Rappaport: And I know as a person who's been in the saddle since before you could walk, you've had opportunities in your career to be on the horses, around the horses.

00:12:02.893 --> 00:12:08.373
Jill Rappaport: I would imagine those productions, those projects have been the ones that are closest to your heart.

00:12:08.673 --> 00:12:09.913
Bourke Floyd: They absolutely are.

00:12:09.933 --> 00:12:11.693
Bourke Floyd: You are not wrong, young lady.

00:12:11.833 --> 00:12:17.953
Bourke Floyd: I will tell you when I did Gods and Generals, it was a prequel to, it was a prequel to Gettysburg.

00:12:18.053 --> 00:12:19.073
Jill Rappaport: With Robert Duvall.

00:12:19.493 --> 00:12:21.133
Bourke Floyd: With Duvall, yeah, with Bobby Duvall.

00:12:21.153 --> 00:12:23.013
Jill Rappaport: A friend of mine, I'm honored to say.

00:12:23.033 --> 00:12:24.093
Bourke Floyd: I love that.

00:12:24.093 --> 00:12:25.093
Bourke Floyd: Well, you know what?

00:12:25.153 --> 00:12:29.613
Bourke Floyd: When you speak to him next, I don't know if he'll remember this story.

00:12:30.073 --> 00:12:37.273
Bourke Floyd: It probably, no, it's my favorite, it's my favorite story in my career because it means the most to me.

00:12:37.293 --> 00:12:45.093
Bourke Floyd: I was riding my horse for that movie and I groomed and rode a topper every day.

00:12:45.473 --> 00:12:54.733
Bourke Floyd: Even, you know, obviously even on my off days because for a few reasons, one, it was a gorgeous, majestic, amazing, incredible animal and I just wanted to spend some time with him.

00:12:55.053 --> 00:13:04.713
Bourke Floyd: But also we did have a rearing stop stunt that we were going to be doing amongst a couple of others, but we had this rearing stop stunt that we were going to be doing on my last day of production.

00:13:05.233 --> 00:13:09.053
Bourke Floyd: And so I just wanted him to know, you know, I wanted to know him.

00:13:09.073 --> 00:13:18.193
Bourke Floyd: I wanted to get his vibe and how he handled certain situations and where he looked for footing and things like that.

00:13:18.213 --> 00:13:23.833
Bourke Floyd: So I'd never put him at risk or anything like that, but I would just groom him and ride him every day.

00:13:23.933 --> 00:13:32.333
Bourke Floyd: And we were going through the hills, riding through a trail, and as often happens, we caught a little loss.

00:13:32.393 --> 00:13:42.233
Bourke Floyd: You know, he missed a foot once, and I leaned in and over, and I'm a bigger guy, and I was able to, instead of giving up and kicking away from him, I stuck with him.

00:13:42.553 --> 00:13:46.433
Bourke Floyd: I grabbed the horn and I gave him his head because he missed his footing.

00:13:46.453 --> 00:13:48.713
Bourke Floyd: So I gave him his head and I pushed against the horn.

00:13:48.733 --> 00:13:55.253
Bourke Floyd: I just threw my body against the opposite direction of that lost foot and was like, you're coming with me.

00:13:55.293 --> 00:13:57.993
Bourke Floyd: We're both going to hiccup to here till you get your feet.

00:13:58.673 --> 00:14:02.793
Bourke Floyd: And then I rode him over, and I got off, and I checked him and made sure he was okay, right?

00:14:02.793 --> 00:14:05.053
Bourke Floyd: And then remounted, and then rode back up.

00:14:05.333 --> 00:14:07.233
Bourke Floyd: And I was going to take him now immediately.

00:14:07.313 --> 00:14:14.253
Bourke Floyd: Obviously, I'm taking him in now because I'm going to let him cool off, and I want to really give him a really good look over and make sure he's okay, which he was.

00:14:14.533 --> 00:14:17.273
Bourke Floyd: But I get up to the top, and Bobby Duvall, Mr.

00:14:17.293 --> 00:14:18.433
Bourke Floyd: Duvall is sitting there.

00:14:18.773 --> 00:14:21.953
Bourke Floyd: And I guess he had been watching.

00:14:21.973 --> 00:14:22.633
Bourke Floyd: I didn't know this.

00:14:22.873 --> 00:14:24.513
Bourke Floyd: I said, Mr.

00:14:24.533 --> 00:14:24.833
Bourke Floyd: Duvall?

00:14:24.993 --> 00:14:26.253
Bourke Floyd: He goes, oh, no, no.

00:14:26.533 --> 00:14:27.713
Bourke Floyd: You call me Bobby, son.

00:14:27.953 --> 00:14:29.213
Bourke Floyd: Horseman, call me Bobby.

00:14:29.273 --> 00:14:29.973
Bourke Floyd: You're a horseman.

00:14:30.393 --> 00:14:31.093
Jill Rappaport: Wow.

00:14:31.253 --> 00:14:37.453
Jill Rappaport: Talk about the ultimate compliment for an actor from one of the greatest actors of all time.

00:14:37.473 --> 00:14:38.053
Bourke Floyd: Of all time.

00:14:38.733 --> 00:14:39.773
Bourke Floyd: I didn't know what to say.

00:14:39.953 --> 00:14:41.973
Bourke Floyd: I mean, I was, I just didn't know what to say.

00:14:42.073 --> 00:14:44.233
Bourke Floyd: I was just, you know, no, no.

00:14:44.673 --> 00:14:46.193
Bourke Floyd: Horseman, call me Bobby, son.

00:14:46.493 --> 00:14:47.433
Bourke Floyd: And you're a horseman.

00:14:47.753 --> 00:14:49.773
Jill Rappaport: You know, I featured Robert Duvall.

00:14:49.793 --> 00:14:52.733
Jill Rappaport: I went to his incredible farm in Virginia.

00:14:53.013 --> 00:14:54.053
Bourke Floyd: Charlottesville.

00:14:54.073 --> 00:14:54.413
Jill Rappaport: Yeah.

00:14:54.433 --> 00:14:56.713
Jill Rappaport: In my book, People We Know Horses They Love.

00:14:56.793 --> 00:15:00.773
Jill Rappaport: And he is, if you've seen him ride, it is poetry in motion.

00:15:00.793 --> 00:15:07.313
Bourke Floyd: You know what his tango, the fact that he is brilliant at tango makes absolute perfect sense to me.

00:15:07.633 --> 00:15:07.933
Jill Rappaport: Right.

00:15:08.073 --> 00:15:09.753
Bourke Floyd: Because riding is a tango.

00:15:09.773 --> 00:15:10.753
Bourke Floyd: It takes two to tango.

00:15:10.813 --> 00:15:12.693
Bourke Floyd: Riding is a partnership.

00:15:12.753 --> 00:15:13.493
Bourke Floyd: And you know what?

00:15:13.773 --> 00:15:17.373
Bourke Floyd: If you think you're leading, you should probably have a conversation with your horse.

00:15:17.613 --> 00:15:28.093
Bourke Floyd: It's a tango, and it's a dance, and it's choreography, and his brilliance at the tango and in that movie, by the way, is so brilliant in that movie.

00:15:28.113 --> 00:15:31.833
Bourke Floyd: But he is, I mean, he is poetry in motion.

00:15:31.953 --> 00:15:44.033
Bourke Floyd: His ability, his trust, and his confidence in the partner that he has while he is saddled is bar none one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.

00:15:44.033 --> 00:15:52.453
Bourke Floyd: And I grew up in Virginia and knew that he, I jealously, I thought it was so cool that he had a horse farm in Charlotte.

00:15:52.473 --> 00:15:54.613
Bourke Floyd: With a tango barn, by the way.

00:15:54.633 --> 00:15:56.153
Bourke Floyd: Yes, that's right, in the back, that's right.

00:15:56.273 --> 00:16:04.853
Jill Rappaport: Which he shares with his beautiful and talented wife, Luciana, who is also an incredibly accomplished rider and a tango dancer extraordinaire.

00:16:05.473 --> 00:16:07.473
Jill Rappaport: They're just amazing human beings.

00:16:07.493 --> 00:16:12.093
Jill Rappaport: And I love the way people can't see your face light up, but I can.

00:16:12.113 --> 00:16:20.613
Jill Rappaport: You're just literally just on fire talking about this compliment from the great Robert Duvall about your horsemanship.

00:16:20.933 --> 00:16:23.333
Jill Rappaport: And meanwhile, what about acting with him?

00:16:23.353 --> 00:16:26.393
Jill Rappaport: You've acted with some of the greatest people in your career.

00:16:26.793 --> 00:16:27.353
Bourke Floyd: You know what?

00:16:27.393 --> 00:16:29.993
Bourke Floyd: Bobby Duvall is an oak.

00:16:30.453 --> 00:16:41.593
Bourke Floyd: When he acts, he is so honest and it's so cool because he doesn't have to turn it on and turn it off or anything.

00:16:41.753 --> 00:16:49.873
Bourke Floyd: He is just so honest in what he is delivering between action and cut.

00:16:50.293 --> 00:16:56.933
Bourke Floyd: And then as the character, and then after cut when he's back to being Bobby, he's so honest just being Bobby.

00:16:57.653 --> 00:17:01.493
Jill Rappaport: And if he loves it, he'll tell you and if he hates it, he's going to tell you.

00:17:02.413 --> 00:17:02.613
Jill Rappaport: Yeah.

00:17:02.633 --> 00:17:12.753
Bourke Floyd: And you're just like who could ask for anything more than the honest truth from a character in a performance or from an icon on a set?

00:17:13.333 --> 00:17:16.893
Bourke Floyd: I mean, nobody's done it better than him.

00:17:17.053 --> 00:17:18.073
Bourke Floyd: Plenty have done it.

00:17:18.233 --> 00:17:18.973
Bourke Floyd: Not plenty.

00:17:19.013 --> 00:17:20.833
Bourke Floyd: Several have done it as well.

00:17:20.833 --> 00:17:24.393
Bourke Floyd: Anthony Hopkins and I've been able to have been fortunate to work with so many of them.

00:17:24.693 --> 00:17:26.693
Bourke Floyd: Anthony Hopkins and Tom Cruise.

00:17:26.713 --> 00:17:37.893
Bourke Floyd: And Tom Cruise is similar to Bobby in the fact that he will also tell you very directly what was wrong with it and what needs to be.

00:17:37.893 --> 00:17:44.053
Bourke Floyd: And he'll also give you the pat on the back, which, you know, getting a pat on the back from somebody like Bobby Duvall puts you in the ground, man.

00:17:44.073 --> 00:17:45.813
Bourke Floyd: I mean, it's just like, okay, I'm good.

00:17:45.833 --> 00:17:46.413
Bourke Floyd: I'm all right.

00:17:46.413 --> 00:17:47.233
Bourke Floyd: It'll melt you.

00:17:47.233 --> 00:17:48.333
Bourke Floyd: You'll just turn to a puddle.

00:17:48.433 --> 00:17:49.313
Bourke Floyd: At least I did.

00:17:49.673 --> 00:17:52.693
Jill Rappaport: Well, I love that you also mentioned Tom Cruise, who you worked with.

00:17:53.293 --> 00:18:05.373
Jill Rappaport: And it's amazing because I had a chance to interview him a few times, and I found him to be a very wonderful, kind human being who actually led to one of my biggest breaks in television by granting me an interview.

00:18:05.653 --> 00:18:06.873
Jill Rappaport: It's a very funny story.

00:18:06.893 --> 00:18:21.713
Jill Rappaport: I was auditioning for a job, local, WCBS Channel 2, and they said to me, well, there's a big event happening in Manhattan with Tom Cruise, and he was then married to Mimi Rogers, and he was going to be at an art gallery opening.

00:18:21.733 --> 00:18:24.653
Jill Rappaport: And they said, Jill, you get that interview, you get the job.

00:18:24.833 --> 00:18:27.253
Jill Rappaport: So I said, oh, piece of cake, no worries.

00:18:27.273 --> 00:18:30.073
Jill Rappaport: I'm thinking, Tom Cruise, he had just come off of Top Gun.

00:18:30.353 --> 00:18:37.213
Jill Rappaport: He was at the height, height, height of his career, and they were having this very private event in Manhattan.

00:18:37.233 --> 00:18:38.833
Jill Rappaport: So I show up with the crew.

00:18:39.093 --> 00:18:43.193
Jill Rappaport: There must have been 75 outlets there trying to get the interview.

00:18:43.213 --> 00:18:45.093
Jill Rappaport: This is way before social media.

00:18:45.113 --> 00:18:48.413
Jill Rappaport: It was all about television, getting the get, the interview.

00:18:49.273 --> 00:18:54.633
Jill Rappaport: And literally everybody's extended arm with the microphone, Tom, Tom, Tom.

00:18:54.973 --> 00:18:59.133
Jill Rappaport: And I'm in the back of the line and I'm screaming for him like everybody else.

00:18:59.153 --> 00:19:02.633
Jill Rappaport: I said, Tom, please, my job depends on it.

00:19:02.873 --> 00:19:08.973
Jill Rappaport: And he turned around, stopped and walked over to me and gave me the interview.

00:19:09.413 --> 00:19:11.433
Jill Rappaport: He's just such a mensch, right?

00:19:11.993 --> 00:19:12.773
Bourke Floyd: You are right.

00:19:13.173 --> 00:19:14.613
Bourke Floyd: I love Tom.

00:19:14.733 --> 00:19:15.773
Bourke Floyd: I love Tom.

00:19:16.033 --> 00:19:22.513
Bourke Floyd: And I will tell you, I try to tell people, like, he is such a pro.

00:19:22.533 --> 00:19:26.893
Bourke Floyd: He knows how to do anything and everything on a film.

00:19:27.113 --> 00:19:28.293
Jill Rappaport: Tell us about the project.

00:19:28.293 --> 00:19:28.993
Jill Rappaport: Oh, sure.

00:19:29.013 --> 00:19:29.633
Bourke Floyd: Yeah, I'm sorry.

00:19:29.653 --> 00:19:29.853
Bourke Floyd: Yeah.

00:19:29.873 --> 00:19:32.793
Bourke Floyd: So I worked on Minority Report with, with Tom.

00:19:32.913 --> 00:19:41.373
Bourke Floyd: We shot for a long time at Universal, which was so cool because I will tell you, I love Universal Studios when I was young and a foster kid.

00:19:41.373 --> 00:19:44.433
Bourke Floyd: I remember seeing Webster and Webster's family.

00:19:44.453 --> 00:19:47.613
Bourke Floyd: Webster was a sitcom that shot on the lot at Universal.

00:19:47.633 --> 00:19:52.333
Bourke Floyd: And Emanuel Lewis played a foster kid in it who ends up being adopted and by his godparents.

00:19:52.513 --> 00:19:59.133
Bourke Floyd: In one of the episodes, they took a vacation to Hollywood, air quotes, vacation to Hollywood because they shot there.

00:19:59.193 --> 00:20:04.433
Bourke Floyd: And the entire vacation again, air quotes was them running around the back lot of Universal.

00:20:04.633 --> 00:20:08.313
Bourke Floyd: And he runs into Michael Knight from Knight Rider and meets Kit and all of these things.

00:20:08.333 --> 00:20:14.733
Bourke Floyd: And horses, by the way, in that episode too, which meant a lot to me as well because of Old Westworld in Universal.

00:20:14.753 --> 00:20:20.273
Bourke Floyd: But in any case, we shot on Universal, which was just a dream come true and with Tom.

00:20:20.293 --> 00:20:21.693
Bourke Floyd: And he was so great.

00:20:21.713 --> 00:20:26.073
Bourke Floyd: He was so gracious and he just knew how every element.

00:20:26.093 --> 00:20:27.893
Bourke Floyd: He didn't try to do every job.

00:20:27.913 --> 00:20:30.153
Bourke Floyd: He didn't try to tell everyone how to do their job.

00:20:30.173 --> 00:20:40.653
Bourke Floyd: It wasn't that it was just watching him be such a pro and so prepared and to see him truly know how every job worked.

00:20:41.033 --> 00:20:53.073
Bourke Floyd: And he knew and why it mattered was to him was that so he could do his job in a way that made all the other jobs easier and better and made for a better movie.

00:20:53.093 --> 00:20:55.213
Bourke Floyd: And at one point we were in Washington.

00:20:55.233 --> 00:20:57.053
Bourke Floyd: This part happened in Washington, DC.

00:20:57.073 --> 00:21:02.873
Bourke Floyd: We also shot in DC some parts of it and in Suffolk, Virginia, too, which was fun to be in Virginia shooting a movie.

00:21:03.053 --> 00:21:05.473
Bourke Floyd: But we were at Crafty grabbing a coffee.

00:21:05.493 --> 00:21:07.453
Bourke Floyd: He had actually gotten a coffee cart for everybody.

00:21:07.853 --> 00:21:12.013
Bourke Floyd: And we were at this coffee cart and he walks up and I'm like, Oh, man, there's Tom.

00:21:12.573 --> 00:21:14.733
Bourke Floyd: And I'm like trying to turn to Walker.

00:21:14.753 --> 00:21:15.233
Bourke Floyd: You know what I mean?

00:21:15.253 --> 00:21:18.013
Bourke Floyd: I just, you know, I was like, we're, you know, and I'd been working with him.

00:21:18.033 --> 00:21:21.333
Bourke Floyd: He was, you know, it's, but he said, Hey, Burke.

00:21:21.413 --> 00:21:22.193
Bourke Floyd: It's like, Oh, man.

00:21:22.213 --> 00:21:22.433
Bourke Floyd: Yeah.

00:21:22.773 --> 00:21:23.053
Bourke Floyd: Yeah.

00:21:23.113 --> 00:21:23.473
Bourke Floyd: Yeah.

00:21:23.533 --> 00:21:24.293
Bourke Floyd: Hey, what's up, Tom?

00:21:24.333 --> 00:21:25.893
Bourke Floyd: He goes, Hey, I was just curious.

00:21:26.173 --> 00:21:27.453
Bourke Floyd: I'm an observer of people.

00:21:27.473 --> 00:21:28.453
Bourke Floyd: I study people.

00:21:28.653 --> 00:21:31.793
Bourke Floyd: You give me this thumbs up all the time and you only really give it to me.

00:21:32.193 --> 00:21:34.133
Bourke Floyd: I was like, Oh gosh, I'm so sorry.

00:21:34.153 --> 00:21:36.733
Bourke Floyd: I'm apologizing for thumbs up, Jill.

00:21:37.033 --> 00:21:39.413
Bourke Floyd: I was a kid, you know, I'm like, I'm sorry.

00:21:39.893 --> 00:21:42.873
Bourke Floyd: He's like, no, I'm not upset with you, man.

00:21:42.893 --> 00:21:51.553
Bourke Floyd: I was just wondering, curious if you, because I study people, I'm curious if you know if it's conscious or not, if there's a reason.

00:21:51.813 --> 00:21:54.053
Bourke Floyd: And I go, Oh, no, there's, there's not.

00:21:54.073 --> 00:21:54.813
Bourke Floyd: That's interesting.

00:21:54.833 --> 00:21:55.133
Bourke Floyd: Really?

00:21:55.153 --> 00:21:55.413
Jill Rappaport: Yeah.

00:21:55.433 --> 00:21:55.813
Bourke Floyd: Yeah.

00:21:55.933 --> 00:21:56.573
Bourke Floyd: That's cool.

00:21:56.593 --> 00:21:57.733
Bourke Floyd: And don't, don't even worry about it.

00:21:57.753 --> 00:21:58.433
Bourke Floyd: I was like, all right, Tom.

00:21:58.453 --> 00:21:59.273
Bourke Floyd: And I gave him a thumbs up.

00:22:00.873 --> 00:22:02.073
Bourke Floyd: Hand to God, I really did.

00:22:02.233 --> 00:22:03.793
Bourke Floyd: And I'm like, Oh my gosh, there it is.

00:22:05.193 --> 00:22:05.973
Bourke Floyd: I can't stop.

00:22:06.393 --> 00:22:10.573
Bourke Floyd: So I, whatever, I'm, I'm, you know, I'm thinking, you know, that's so funny.

00:22:10.593 --> 00:22:18.573
Bourke Floyd: So then fast forward about a year, a little over a year, and we are at the premiere and someone comes over to me.

00:22:18.593 --> 00:22:24.213
Bourke Floyd: One of Tom's assistants comes up to, you know, the person, my Wrangler, if you will, is we're walking in.

00:22:24.233 --> 00:22:25.093
Bourke Floyd: You know how that goes.

00:22:25.113 --> 00:22:27.913
Bourke Floyd: I know you know how that goes because I'm doing a step and repeat or whatever.

00:22:27.933 --> 00:22:33.593
Bourke Floyd: And my Wrangler, one of his assistants, talks to the Wrangler in hands or something, and she sends it out to the car.

00:22:33.613 --> 00:22:36.073
Bourke Floyd: So I don't even really keep up with what's going on.

00:22:36.093 --> 00:22:39.913
Bourke Floyd: You know, I just and after the premiere, I get back in the car.

00:22:39.933 --> 00:22:41.573
Bourke Floyd: I'm back in the car to take me home.

00:22:41.913 --> 00:22:47.093
Bourke Floyd: And in the back of the car with me is this tube and a little card from Tom.

00:22:47.293 --> 00:22:50.233
Bourke Floyd: And I get home and I open the tube.

00:22:50.453 --> 00:23:00.013
Bourke Floyd: And there's the poster that had been on my wall when I was a little kid of him in Top Gun in the cockpit, giving the thumbs up.

00:23:00.533 --> 00:23:01.753
Jill Rappaport: Oh, my goodness.

00:23:01.773 --> 00:23:03.193
Jill Rappaport: That's amazing.

00:23:03.513 --> 00:23:11.453
Jill Rappaport: So, you know, a guy of his stature to take the time to put that together because of that gesture you made.

00:23:11.533 --> 00:23:12.673
Jill Rappaport: That says everything.

00:23:12.933 --> 00:23:18.233
Jill Rappaport: Just as everything came over to me, heard that this would literally my career depends on it.

00:23:18.253 --> 00:23:19.793
Jill Rappaport: And he made a difference, right?

00:23:19.813 --> 00:23:20.953
Bourke Floyd: Your listeners can't see.

00:23:21.313 --> 00:23:29.373
Bourke Floyd: I literally have tears in my eyes right now at your story, at your story, Jill, because that is who Tom Cruise is.

00:23:29.933 --> 00:23:36.273
Bourke Floyd: It's what his heart is, is that somebody said, my job depends on it.

00:23:36.573 --> 00:23:40.793
Bourke Floyd: And he hears that and says, I hear the honesty in that.

00:23:41.153 --> 00:23:49.013
Bourke Floyd: And I flat refused to be the guy that walks away when somebody says they need help and is willing to say, this doesn't work for me if you don't help.

00:23:49.433 --> 00:23:50.213
Bourke Floyd: I love the guy.

00:23:50.273 --> 00:23:50.913
Bourke Floyd: I love the guy.

00:23:50.933 --> 00:23:56.633
Bourke Floyd: And I love that you and I both have a connection like that, a personal connection to him.

00:23:57.053 --> 00:23:59.633
Jill Rappaport: So should we both give him a thumbs up right now?

00:23:59.653 --> 00:24:00.973
Bourke Floyd: 100%.

00:24:01.013 --> 00:24:01.373
Bourke Floyd: I do.

00:24:01.633 --> 00:24:02.613
Bourke Floyd: Hey, you know what?

00:24:02.873 --> 00:24:04.813
Bourke Floyd: There are a couple of things I do every night.

00:24:04.973 --> 00:24:06.253
Bourke Floyd: I kiss my kids.

00:24:06.433 --> 00:24:08.733
Bourke Floyd: I love on my dog before I go to bed.

00:24:08.753 --> 00:24:12.973
Bourke Floyd: I say my prayers and going forward, I'm going to give thumbs up to Tom Cruise.

00:24:14.533 --> 00:24:20.313
Jill Rappaport: But you know, you're so amazing to me because your life started out very good until it wasn't.

00:24:20.513 --> 00:24:27.913
Jill Rappaport: And to be put in the foster care system, having known parents, known a home, and all of a sudden nothing.

00:24:28.293 --> 00:24:32.873
Jill Rappaport: And then to turn out the way you did was so much, so many blessings.

00:24:33.313 --> 00:24:34.673
Jill Rappaport: What do you attribute to that?

00:24:34.993 --> 00:24:42.733
Bourke Floyd: You know, I think foundationally, you said it best is that I did know a home and I did know what that could be.

00:24:43.053 --> 00:24:49.753
Bourke Floyd: And between blessings and good fortune, and I think those two are a commonality in my book.

00:24:49.773 --> 00:25:01.673
Bourke Floyd: But and I think because I was able to continue to spend time with horses, in part because the foster care program had that as an opportunity.

00:25:01.733 --> 00:25:05.613
Bourke Floyd: And then I was in Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America.

00:25:05.613 --> 00:25:07.853
Bourke Floyd: And so I always had a skill set with them.

00:25:08.193 --> 00:25:12.113
Bourke Floyd: And so it was easy for me to find work, even if it was volunteer.

00:25:12.313 --> 00:25:14.733
Bourke Floyd: It was easy for me to be able to get onto a ranch.

00:25:14.933 --> 00:25:15.673
Bourke Floyd: You know what I mean?

00:25:17.573 --> 00:25:18.793
Bourke Floyd: And have the experience with them.

00:25:18.833 --> 00:25:23.093
Bourke Floyd: And I think it starts with a crack in a heart that's made of stone.

00:25:23.113 --> 00:25:23.913
Bourke Floyd: You know what I mean?

00:25:24.033 --> 00:25:26.353
Bourke Floyd: And that's sort of what horses will do for you.

00:25:26.393 --> 00:25:29.473
Bourke Floyd: And I mean, it's my personal experience.

00:25:29.553 --> 00:25:37.093
Bourke Floyd: And so others can say or think of this as an attempt at some sort of fairy tale thing, but it isn't.

00:25:37.533 --> 00:25:56.213
Bourke Floyd: Those that want it to be, or for those that would dismiss this anecdote and this part of my life as some sort of fairy tale childhood imagination, I encourage them to spend a moment with some horses and see what it does for them because it is.

00:25:56.233 --> 00:25:57.553
Bourke Floyd: It's just a magical thing.

00:25:57.553 --> 00:26:00.953
Bourke Floyd: And I think that I need this for my job thing, right?

00:26:01.413 --> 00:26:10.873
Bourke Floyd: Horses, you have this responsibility to these creatures, these majestic animals that you care for.

00:26:10.893 --> 00:26:14.073
Bourke Floyd: And so you get up every day to go do that.

00:26:14.333 --> 00:26:19.593
Bourke Floyd: It gives you purpose and it gives you a connection, a true connection.

00:26:19.593 --> 00:26:28.173
Jill Rappaport: So, you know, it's amazing to me though, not only horses, but when you consider animals in general and shelter animals, your life has paralleled.

00:26:28.313 --> 00:26:44.493
Jill Rappaport: And sadly, the hundreds and thousands of millions of stories of shelter animals in general who have known a life, known a home, all of a sudden were left without that security, put into foster, put into shelters, hoping to find that home again.

00:26:44.513 --> 00:26:52.113
Jill Rappaport: Do you think because of what you went through as a child, that that is the reason you are so in tuned with animals in need?

00:26:52.433 --> 00:26:53.173
Bourke Floyd: I think so.

00:26:53.193 --> 00:26:55.213
Bourke Floyd: I really, yes, I do.

00:26:55.453 --> 00:26:56.513
Bourke Floyd: I've thought about it.

00:26:56.853 --> 00:27:03.813
Bourke Floyd: I've tried to like, have you ever tried to pinpoint where that compulsion inside of you ever came from?

00:27:03.953 --> 00:27:10.253
Bourke Floyd: Once it came, I've tried to pinpoint it, and I can never, I can never get far enough in to find it.

00:27:10.273 --> 00:27:16.513
Bourke Floyd: So part of me thinks maybe I also just have loved, I've always had the gift of having amazing animals around me.

00:27:16.553 --> 00:27:30.833
Bourke Floyd: And so I give myself a little Tarzanish vibe from, you know, like a little bit raised by wolves kind of vibe of, you know, maybe like my son, like how he just is with animals, that it was just sewn into the fabric of who I am.

00:27:31.273 --> 00:27:50.273
Jill Rappaport: As I said from the beginning of the podcast, the thing that resonated with me the most is your love and your commitment to animals in need and the message that you are sending out with your children to help them, to save them and to really take care of them for the rest of their lives, which is what they deserve.

00:27:50.473 --> 00:27:52.553
Jill Rappaport: And I so appreciate you for that.

00:27:52.733 --> 00:27:54.073
Bourke Floyd: Well, thank you so much.

00:27:54.093 --> 00:27:58.793
Bourke Floyd: Thank you for the opportunity to even talk about it and just to spend some time with you.

00:27:58.813 --> 00:28:07.693
Bourke Floyd: You're electric and your book, your book might be one of the greatest coffee table books of all time.

00:28:07.713 --> 00:28:17.153
Bourke Floyd: And I say that because so many coffee table books are about a cover that sits on a coffee table and yours, you cannot help but pick it up.

00:28:17.373 --> 00:28:19.993
Bourke Floyd: And then it becomes a conversation piece.

00:28:20.013 --> 00:28:29.033
Bourke Floyd: Like that's what a coffee table book should be is that you get to pick it up and the people that you're sitting in your living room with, you can pass it around and start.

00:28:29.113 --> 00:28:34.573
Bourke Floyd: It's got so many brilliantly famous people in it and beautiful photographs.

00:28:34.893 --> 00:28:38.193
Bourke Floyd: And the stories are electric.

00:28:38.293 --> 00:28:40.973
Bourke Floyd: And I love, I love your books so much.

00:28:41.013 --> 00:28:42.133
Jill Rappaport: It's such a great deal.

00:28:42.333 --> 00:28:43.613
Jill Rappaport: What an ultimate compliment.

00:28:43.633 --> 00:28:46.513
Jill Rappaport: And my sister, Linda Solomon, did all the photography.

00:28:46.633 --> 00:28:47.593
Bourke Floyd: She's your sister.

00:28:47.693 --> 00:28:48.973
Bourke Floyd: Oh my gosh.

00:28:49.293 --> 00:28:50.813
Jill Rappaport: She's so talented.

00:28:50.833 --> 00:28:52.653
Jill Rappaport: And the title was so basic.

00:28:52.673 --> 00:28:54.013
Jill Rappaport: And at first we weren't sure about it.

00:28:54.033 --> 00:28:57.273
Jill Rappaport: People, we know horses they love, but that's exactly what it is.

00:28:57.513 --> 00:28:57.873
Jill Rappaport: Right?

00:28:57.893 --> 00:28:59.473
Bourke Floyd: You can't help but pick it up.

00:28:59.973 --> 00:29:01.273
Jill Rappaport: Oh, thank you so much.

00:29:01.353 --> 00:29:03.593
Jill Rappaport: This has been such a pleasure.

00:29:03.613 --> 00:29:05.953
Jill Rappaport: Your career and your heart.

00:29:05.953 --> 00:29:12.073
Jill Rappaport: You're just amazing and continued success in all the venues that you are working in.

00:29:12.213 --> 00:29:16.513
Jill Rappaport: But most important, continue your wonderful work with Animals in Need.

00:29:16.613 --> 00:29:20.113
Jill Rappaport: And I'm so honored to have you on Rappaport to the Rescue.

00:29:20.133 --> 00:29:22.553
Jill Rappaport: And I hope you enjoyed this wonderful show.

00:29:23.133 --> 00:29:28.393
Jill Rappaport: And please remember to open up your homes and your hearts to an animal in need.
