BIO:

Fairland Ferguson is a true horse whisperer.  Horses were her healers, and actually helped her recover after she fell 68 feet from a cliff in Roanoke Virginia just before reentering college for her junior year. In that fall, she broke 46 bones and crushed her face in 23 places, ending her elite collegiate basketball career.  But…this helped her remember her connection to and the deep healing power of horses.

After regaining her strength and health, Fairland became a trick rider and began performance riding at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.  This led to an even bigger stage:  to the World Renowned, internationally unprecedented traveling horse spectacular Cavalia, a sister company to Cirque Du Soleil.  There she became a star performer, trick rider, roman rider and lead spokesperson for the tour.
After the years of touring, she continues to work as a horse trainer and manager, model, and news correspondent for special events.  Among her highlights, Fairland also was featured on the PBS series ‘Unladylike 2020’ that parallels standout women of the 20th century to their modern day comparisons.  In the series, Fairland was showcased beside the late Sonora Carver.

A combination of events brought her back home to the states where she has continued to train and ride her own and client’s horses, train the next generation of up and coming trick riders, and in this work, she uses her fearless riding style to rehabilitate problem horses and find them safe homes.

Fairland has a passion for horses and people alike and is so excited to bring her knowledge and expertise to Shooting Star Horse Farms where she manages and cares for dozens of horses, including Megan Blake’s mini, Mini HaHa.

Fairland may be found on google and other social media outlets.
