BIO:

Michael McGrady can currently be seen on Showtime’s Ray Donovan as Agent Frank Barnes (Season 5 premieres August 6th), as well as the Freeform hit series Beyond (returns January 2018 with new episodes) as Tom Matthews.

McGrady has been a working actor in Hollywood for decades with recognized credits such as The Babe (as baseball legend Lou Gehrig opposite John Goodman), Diggstown (alongside Academy Award winners James Wood and Lou Gossett Jr.), Wyatt Earp (as John Shanssey opposite Kevin Costner), Terrance Malick’s The Thin Red Line, Ulu Grosbard’s Deep End of the Ocean (alongside Michelle Pfeiffer), as well as several independent films such as 5 Aces with Charlie Sheen, Rage with Nicolas Cage and The Perfect Family with Jason Ritter. Most recently he starred in the critically acclaimed FX series American Crime Story: The People VS OJ Simpson and the Emmy winning series Southland

Father of plus-sized Supermodel Hunter McGrady, Michael has lived a lived a life meant for a screenplay. He was born and raised in Washington State where he studied Business Administration at the University of Washington with plans to attend law school. Those plans shifted when he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma at the age of 19 (the same cancer that took his father’s life only one year prior). Upon receiving a clean bill of health, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue his lifelong (and secret) desire of acting.

In addition to his success as an actor, he is an accomplished fine artist whose work is currently represented in several galleries across the country. McGrady and his wife Ilka, own and operate McGrady Fine Art.  When not filming, McGrady can be found performing with his band Michael McGrady’s Sonic Groove in and around the Los Angeles area. He also enjoys sailing, surfing, riding his Harley or soaring his Hang Glider above the mountains of beautiful Santa Barbara.  He holds two black belts in two different styles of Karate, and is actively involved in coaching youth sports-- and even coached all three of his children.
