This week Dr. Courtney is joined by Erin Askeland, Animal Health and Behavior Consultant for Camp Bow Wow, to discuss making sure your furry friends are having fun in a safe environment at a doggie day camp, day care or boarding facility.

Erin Askeland is a Certified Behavior Consultant and Certified Professional Dog Trainer who has 18 years of experience in the pet industry with a focus on training, behavior, safety, and health. From training horses and teaching children and adults responsible equine ownership, running a doggie daycare, managing a veterinary clinic, and working with volunteers in a large, government animal shelter, Erin’s core focus has always been on the health and well-being of animals and their humans.

She currently works as the Animal Health and Behavior Consultant for Camp Bow Wow®, the largest doggie daycare franchise in the world! At Camp Bow Wow®, she works with various departments to ensure Camps are well-equipped to care for their dogs through a knowledgeable staff, safe environment, and excellent service.

She also helps onboard new franchise owners into the dog daycare environment by training on dog behavior and safety, and teaches new Camp Bow Wow dog trainers how to train dogs in a safe, humane, and ethical way so that they may offer training services at their Camp. She believes we owe it to our dogs, both owned and in our care, to give them every opportunity to be happy and healthy!
