This week Robin chats with Beth Stern – actress, author, model, co-host of the American Humane Hero Dog Awards, and compassionate animal lover. Beth shares a spirited message against puppy mills, which breed puppies for sale, typically in inhumane conditions. Later, Robin and Beth talk about our country’s current shelter crisis, Beth describes her amazing relationship with her many foster animals and shares why she’s a self-proclaimed “Cat Lady”.

Beth Stern is a passionate spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League of America, a leader in the no-kill animal movement. She is also involved with The Wildlife Rescue in The Hamptons and English Bulldog Rescue on Long Island.

Stern has graced the pages of many magazines, appears regularly on network morning and daytime talk shows and has been a guest co-host on “The View.” She is also known for her work as a television personality for Spike TV and G4 and as a special correspondent for EXTRA.

In 2010, Stern authored Oh My Dog: How to Choose, Train, Groom, Nurture, Feed, and Care for Your New Best Friend, which reached #5 on The New York Times Best Seller list of paperback advice books. In 2014, Stern wrote the children's book Yoda: The Story of a Cat and his Kittens about a Persian cat with a heart condition that she and her husband, Howard Stern, rescued. In 2015, Beth Stern wrote a sequel to the book, titled Yoda Gets a Buddy.

In 2014, Beth Stern joined James Denton as co-host of the 4th Annual American Humane Hero Dog Awards. The pair co-hosted the awards show in 2015, 2016, and 2017, and Beth remains one of American Humane’s dearest supporters.
