Karen B. London, Ph.D.


Karen B. London, Ph.D. is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist and a Certified Pet Dog Trainer whose clinical work focuses on the evaluation and treatment of serious behavioral problems in dogs. Karen London is currently a columnist for The Bark magazine and served for three years on the Animal Behavior Society’s Board of Professional Certification. She has written widely about training and behavior as well as giving educational seminars and speeches on canine behavior for trainers, veterinary and shelter staff, and the public. She is a lecturer at Northern Arizona University for a tropical biology field course to Nicaragua, and has given guest lectures in Animal Behavior at several universities. She lives in Flagstaff, Arizona with her husband and their two young sons. Dr. London is the co-author (with Patricia McConnell, Ph.D.) of several books, including her most recent, entitled Play Together, Stay Together: Happy and Healthy Ways to Play With Your Dog, which are all available at www.patriciamcconnell.com .  She regularly writes on canine behavior at www.dogbehaviorblog.com, and will soon have an online canine behavior course available with her co-writer on this site, Con Slobodchikoff, Ph.D. A video of her seminar called Canine Play, Including its Relationship to Aggression is available at tawzerdogvideos.com.
