In 1977 I purchased my first show dog “Lady” an English Springer Spaniel.  Which started me on a path of passion for the purebred dog.  While competing, my lack of ring experience was made up by expert conditioning and grooming.  Within a 2-year period of time I had several champions, finishing my dogs against professional handlers and long time breeders.  In my third year of showing I had my specials bitch “Lady” ranked 4th in the nation, and my specials dog  “Thunder” was ranked 10th in the nation, always owner handled.

Much of what I accomplished was due to my extensive background in biology, chemistry and nutritional research.  This started with my college experience and continued through my life as I worked with my dogs as well as other dog fanciers. Doing research studies on intestinal by-pass and the effect on the liver and other organs while using pharmaceuticals’, this furthered my knowledge in nutrition and led me to study the gut as an avenue for health.

Family obligations caused me to become heavily involved in securities and as owner of Janovsky Financial I was not able to fulfill all my dreams. On September 10, 2001 1 day before 9/11, I received a gift of a Bichon Frise “AMY”; this has brought me full circle back to where my passion has always been.  In the last 8 years we have competed in the conformation ring as well as in agility trials, obedience and rally trials finishing her with 14 titles prior to breeding her to one of the top Bichon Breeders in the nation, High Ridge Kennels.

Since this time I have finished many dogs in the AKC venue for family, friends, clients and myself.  Always enjoying putting the health and conditioning as the number 1 priority with any animal I worked with (including horses)

While being involved in the different venues of competition dogs, many companies involved with producing and distribution have sought out my business expertise on products that might be released into the marketplace.

In 2003 I closed my security’s business of 18 years to go back to my passion of training, nutrition, Canine dental hygiene and grooming as a full time career dedicated to helping all those who want to see their companion dog in the best condition possible, whether it be in the conformation ring or competing in other venues.

Starting in 2005 I started writing using all of my experience on topics that range from health and nutrition, to basic responsible dog ownership as well as other areas of AKC history such as Agility.
