Dr. Bernadine Cruz: Hello, my name is Dr. Bernadine Cruz and you're listening to PetLifeRadio.com and at "The Pet Doctor." Pets. Americans have a love affair with them. You probably wouldn't be listening to this message unless you have one, want one, or owned one in the past and discovered that pets make our lives just "that" much better.

Having been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years in Southern California, I've got to know many marvelous pets and their caregivers. The common concern amongst all this pet lovers is how to properly care for them. We want them to live well into their senior years with the best quality of life possible. So, no matter if your cherished pet has feathers, fins, some that you might not have even thought of. All the interviewing animal care experts from across the United States. If there is a pet health crisis, just think of the pet food recall that occurred earlier this year, you can be assured that I'll address the issue in a timely manner and tell you where you can find reliable and up-to-date information.

The Internet is a great source of knowledge but not all of it is trustworthy. I may not have all the answers but you can be assured, I'll not give you erroneous information. Topics that will be featured will cover the gamut from pediatrics to senior pet care, preventative medicine to emergency first aid. Pets can have many of the same medical issues that people grapple with such as diabetes, cancer, skin issues and arthritis. I'll tell you what advances have taken place and how they may be able to help your pet.

If you have suggestions regarding topics I'd love to hear from you. You can send your suggestions to bernadine@petliferadio.com. If you have a particular question that you want answered concerning your pet's health the best person to ask is your primary care veterinary professional. You and your veterinarian should form a health care team. Regular checkups by your veterinarian and your tender loving care by you at home are the two best ways by which you can keep your pet in the peak of health.

But if you need a second opinion you can contact me again at bernadine@petliferadio.com. I'll answer your questions during one of the upcoming segments or e-mail you a personal response. The goal of this program is to entertain, educate, and increase the pleasure, you and your pet share in life. And why is this important to me? Because it's your pet! Health matters.
