You're planning a vacation.  An escape from the day to day routine of everyday life.  You're looking forward to getting pampered in some sunbathed tropical island getaway, surrounded by cool, balmy breezes, with the soothing, relaxing sounds of calypso music playing distantly in the warm island air.  Doesn't it sound wonderful?

Well, don't leave your pets at home!
[bark]

They want to go, too!  Welcome to Travel Tails, the show where you'll get great travel ideas on perfect places for you and your pets.  From Paris to paradise, south of the border to the South Seas, Travel Tails will give you cool tips on fun vacation destinations to travel with your pets, pet-friendly hotels and advice on how to travel safely and happily with your furry best friends.  So, get ready to pack the bags and the bones, with your Travel Tails hosts, Susan Sims and Nicholas Svelslosky!

Susan Sims: Hey, everybody, I'm Susan Sims!

Nicholas Sveslosky: And I'm Nicholas Sveslosky, we are your hosts for Travel Tails on Pet Life Radio.

Susan Sims: And each week we want to tell you all about the fun, Fido-friendly destinations for you to enjoy with your pooch!

Nicholas Sveslosky: Yup, that’s right, and we'll invite onto the show informative guests with destination topics to help you plan your next Fido-friendly trip.

Susan Sims: And I know, for me, I always like to get a good idea of what to bring, where to go, what to do with my dog, and the other thing is, we want to offer travel tips on these shows.  Just as an example, Nicholas, how would you prepare a dog to become a “road warrior” when he's not used to riding in a car and you want to take him on this family vacation, what would you do?

Nicholas Sveslosky: You know, that's an excellent question, Susan, one I'm glad you asked.  In fact, I was asked this the other day, and my advice would be to start out with short trips, maybe to a fun destination like a nearby park, a beach.  Take Fido out to play before heading home, and this will give your dog the idea that it is fun to go for a ride in the car.  You build up those car trips and in no time, your pup will be a “road warrior.”

Susan Sims: So, in other words, you probably don't want to take him to the vet, because most of the times you go to the vet, it's not that good of an experience--

[laugh]

Susan Sims: --And then he may not want to get into the car!

Nicholas Sveslosky: That’s a very good point!

Susan Sims: Yeah, and the other thing that I love is that there are so many products and wonderful services now for people that are traveling with their pets.  You can go online and just Google for anything that has to do with pet travel and you just get thousands and thousands of websites.  So, another thing I think would be great for everybody is that we're going to spotlight different products and different services that will make a good travel companion for all your adventures, so when you're ready to go, you'll have a little doggy duffel bag and maybe you're going to have treats and maybe you're going to have chew toys, but you're going to have a lot of accessories that’s going to make this a great adventure and fun for the whole family!

Nicholas Sveslosky: Yes, definitely a lot of good info!  As editor and publisher of Fido-Friendly Magazine, we know travel, and we can't wait to share our years of travel experience with you during our pet travel show each week.

Susan Sims: Yeah, I think it's going to be a lot of fun.  So everybody, sit and stay!  Because we're going to be right back with more Travel Tails on Pet Life Radio!
